Is cannabis tourism still allowed in Barcelona?

Under Spanish law it’s perfectly legal for you to join a cannabis club as a foreigner. There is nothing in Spanish or Catalonian law to stop you. You should however educate yourself on the rules of the Cannabis Clubs in Barcelona. This isn’t The Netherlands or the US, there are laws you need to be aware of. Marijuana clubs in Spain are ‘private associations’ where anybody who wants to enter must first fill a membership registration and pay a fee. There is no law that forbids foreigners from registering; you only need to confirm you are welcomed to visit the club. Cannabis clubs should consist of a ‘closed group of members.’ Most clubs will take foreign identifications (passport or driver’s license) as a valid certificate of identification. When contacting the club, it is important to indicate your nationality / residence to avoid a last minute setback.
